Lion Country Safari is a drive-through and walk-through animal park. The drive- through portion of the Florida park is divided into seven sections. Some are named after other parks or areas found throughout the world. They are Las Pampas, Ruaha National Park, Kalahari Bushveldt, Gir Forest, Gorongosa Reserve, Serengeti Plains and Hwange National Park.
The walk-through portion of the Lion Country Safari Park contains rides, activities, animal encounters, food, gift shops and a number of birds, reptiles and mammals. Some of the rides and activities are a carousel, elephant ride, Ferris wheel, paddleboats, Safari Queen, Safari Splash and panning for fossils or gemstones.
Some of the animal encounters include a petting zoo, camel rides, budgie feeding, giraffe feeding and lory bird aviary.
Safari Splash is a 4,000 square-foot water spray ground with 23 interactive water features. Seating and umbrellas surround the area. A great place to cool off from the Florida heat!
A unique overnight or longer stay can be had at the award winning Lion Country Safari KOA. This campground offers RV sites, Tent sites and cabins. The KOA is adjacent to the driving portion of the Lion Country Safari and animal’s sounds can be heard frequently.
