The Cental Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens, formerly named Sanford Zoo, is home to over 400 animals.  
Some of the animals you can see are Amur leopard, black-footed cat, black-handed spider monkey,
tamarins, lemurs, cheetah and clouded leopard.   Little ones will enjoy the Animal Adventure Children’s
zoo where they can see domestic animals such as sheep, goats, turkey, zebu and llama.  Snakes and
reptiles can be see in the zoo’s Herpretarium.  This zoo in Sanford has the largest collection of reptiles.
In addition to the animals, the zoo in central Florida has an aerial adventure course, a water play area, a
train ride and carousel.  The Zoom Air Adventures contains three tree top zip-line courses.  The Tropical
Splash Ground contains a water tunnel, raining trees and a bucket dump.  The train ride and carousel ride
are $2-3.  Segway tours of the zoo and off-road are also offered at an extra charge.

Educational classes are offered by the zoo in Florida for schools, scouts and teachers.  Summer camps,
parties and classes are offered and can be seen on the Central Florida Zoo’s website.
Where Can I Find Coupons and Discounts

  • AAA member can save 20% off their ticket prices at
    the gate when showing a valid AAA card.

  • Dealbase.com sometimes has package deals that
    include the zoo for a discounted price.

  • Local ads, newspapers and tourist books may
    contain a coupon for the zoo.
  • A Senior rate of $10.95 is offered for all those 60 and over.

  • You can sign up for the zoo's e-newsletter in which they announce zoo specials and deals.

  • Group rates for admission, train and carousel rides are offered for groups of fifteen or more.  Safari
    Lunch Bags are also available for an extra charge.  One chaperone or teacher gets in FREE with 10
    kids.  Bus drivers are also FREE.  Reservations must be made by calling the number above.

  • If you have a membership to another zoo or aquarium, you may qualify for discounted or FREE
    admission Central Florida Zoo tickets.

  • A membership to the Central Florida Zoo may save you money if you plan on going a few times.  
    Memberships start at $45 and include FREE admission to the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical
    Gardens, FREE or discounted admission to more then 150 zoos and aquariums in the U.S.,
    discounts at the gift store, parties, select special events, educational programs and more.

  • The zoo offers an annual ride pass for the carousel and train ride.  The ride pass starts at $35 for
    the year.
Central Florida Zoo Details

Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens is open every day of the year
except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The zoo’s hours are 9 am to 5 pm every day.

Regular admission is Adults $12.95, Children 3-12 $8.95, Children under 2
are FREE.

The parking is FREE.

Picnic areas are available for guests.
